Attachment A (For use with activity #2)

Possible Commands:

1) The temperature reaches 103!! All organisms without sweat glands, or otherwise mentioned means of temperature control, will perish.

2) Those creatures who are scavengers (which can draw nourishment from almost any disgusting means) can add 1 "escape-death-this-time" card to their stack.

3) Lots of rain and relatively mild nights...all organisms capable of internal reproduction can add 5 offspring to their population number.

4) All organisms having either large forearms or the mention of claws for food gathering can kill and eat one other organism of their choice.

5) Sandstorm settles in...all organisms that have eyes on the tops of their heads, with no mention of eyelids, loose 25% of their population due to eye infection and disease.

6) Darwin's Beagle has landed! The crew on board begins hunting for food. They capture and kill all no-winged, soft or fleshy-skinned organisms over 4 inches tall and 10 inches long.

7) All creatures who derive their nourishment from lakes or other bodies of water add 20% to their population number.

8) Winds kick up to 25 knots...all organisms capable of burying themselves do so. Add 5 offspring to your population if you are capable of external reproduction.

9) The crew from the Beagle is at it again! This time they have cut down all broad leafed plants over 6 inches tall. If you depend on this as your source of nutrition, you lose 75% of your population.

10) Hurricane Charles hits and brings 24 foot tides...all water organisms over 2 lbs are smashed against the rocks. No survivors. Water creatures under 2 lbs increase 20%.

11) All creatures with slow metabolism add 10% to their population number if they also have good protective armor (shell).

12) Any organism with opposable thumb development can wipe out 50% of the population of their choice or choose to increase their population by 25%.
