One of the first things to do in deciding on a topic for your final research paper is to think about what broader areas of inquiry most interest you.  I have listed here a few broader areas that might be covered by a panel.  Start thinking about which of these areas you would like to work in, or if you have a more specific topic already in mind, into which of these categories it would best fit.

Possible Broad Panel & Research Paper Areas:

Individual Conversion – causes, types of conversion, literature of conversion, etc.

Conversion/Christianization of Peoples; Mass Conversions

Geography of Conversion – focus on regions, particular cities, or countryside

Christianization of Institutions (law, family, education, imperial rule, socio-economic structures)

Conversion and Culture – Art, Architecture, sacred space

Agents of Conversion – motives, methods, missions, personnel (monks, merchants, women, etc.)

Resisting Conversion: remnants of paganism in the late antique Mediterranean world

Others???
