IntroductionI have been trained in the
Discipline of Political Science with concentration in International Relations
(first field), Political Theory (second field), and Methodology (Qualitative,
third field). ResearchMy research interests lie at the
intersection of U.S. foreign policy, national security, and international
political economy. I am currently researching and writing my Dissertation
which explores the development of U.S. policy towards internet governance
and asks why did the U.S. construct the internet as a marketplace rather than
as a social communication and information exchange platform. I argue that the
United States Government leveraged the Internet as the technological
key for unlocking overseas market and societal doors shut to U.S. commerce and
political ideals consistent with long-term U.S. national security aims. TeachingI take it as my pedagogical
responsibility and opportunity to inculcate students with a sense of the world
outside of the one in which they live. I seek to inspire, challenge, and
engage my students in a partnership of investigation and learning. To
accomplish these aims my classes and class assignments are designed to
encourage students to develop critical thinking skills necessary for successful
academic experience and especially for political engagement in the democratic
process. |
