SUBJECT: miniactivity 8--netscape gold

As you know from class, the next miniactivity revolves around using an html editor to work on your homepage. The most likely one for you to use is Netscape Communicator. I would suggest you use it to either update and improve your homepage or to create a page which you link to. As you will find out, using an html editor is an especially quick way to add links and graphics to a page. You'll find it especially handy for creating your teacher enrichment page.

Here's a cautionary tip. Type out an entire line or paragraph before going back to make a link. If the link ends where your text ends, sometimes the link will continue automatically when you decide to add some more words to the line. To remedy that problem, highlight the section you don't want included in the link, push the link button on the tool bar, then select "remove link."

I'll know you have completed this assignment when you send this message back to me with the URL of the page you created. I'll check the "view source" for your page on my browser. When you use an editor, such as Netscape Communicator, the editor adds special html codes at the beginning of your page which you normally don't add if you are doing it from scratch--that's its own private way to advertise to other computers that you were "helped" in making your creation.

Happy Homepaging!
