Fisherman:    Ic eom fiscere.

Interviewer:  Hu gefehst þu fixas?
Fisherman:    Ic astigie min scyp and rowe ut on þa ea, and  wyrpe mine max on ea.

Interviewer: Hwilce fixas gefehst þu?
Fisherman:   Swa wylce swa on wætere swymmaþ.

Interviewer: Hwæt gif hit unclæne fixas beoþ?
Fisherman:   Ic utwyrpe þa unclænan ut, ond genime me clæne to mete.

Interviewer: Forhwi ne fixast þu on sæ?
Fisherman:  Hwilum ic do, ac seldon, forþam micel rewyt me ys to sæ.

Interviewer: Hwæt fehst þu on sæ?
Fisherman:   Hærincgas ond leaxas ond crabban.

Interviewer: Wilt þu fon sumne hwæl?
Fisherman:   Nic.

Interviewer: Forhwi?
Fisherman:   Forþam plyhtlic þingc hit ys gefon hwæl.
