About

I am an Associate Professor of Classical Studies specializing in the epigraphy and archaeology of ancient Greek cult. My research interests include Greek and Roman topography and the folklore of Early Modern Greece. I was educated at the Liceo Classico-Ginnasio Statale G.B. Niccolini-F.D. Guerrazzi of Livorno (Italy), the University of Pisa (Italy), the Johns Hopkins University, and the American School of Classical Studies at Athens. Since 1990 I have been at the University of Florida, where I teach courses in the Greek language (ancient to modern, all levels); Latin language (ancient to humanistic, all levels); Greek and Roman literature; and Greek, Roman and Egyptian civilization. I also serve as Undergraduate Coordinator for the Department of Classics.
