  • modeling of mountain belts, plateaus, or basins
  • mantle convection modeling
  • experimental/numerical modeling of chemical partitioning and flow in the solid earth
  • study of mantle plumes and hotspots
  • thermo-mechanical evolution of the whole earth
  • crust-mantle interaction and chemical recycling
  • magma formation, differentiation, transport, and emplacement
  • plate driving mechanisms
  • modeling of earthquakes
