description
"duet/biology" was
made through the Film & Video
Program at Duke University in the fall of 1995. It was basically supposed
to be a film that would condense everything I like about film and theory
into ten minutes. While it may not succeed at doing all that, it does succeed
at being ten minutes long, and I'm told it's still an interesting mess
of a film. My official blurb reads: duet/biology is a sci-fi avant-noir,
a trilogy of failed posthuman duets exploring the prospects of life among
the cyborgs.
screenings
"duet/biology" screened at numerous fests including the (now sadly defunct) Charlotte Film and Video Festival, the Wilmington Exchange Festival, and the Carolina Film and Video Festival. It even screened in Victoria, Australia. (Not bad for a first film, I guess.) It was awarded a Kodak Promising Filmmaker Award at the Hi Mom Film Festival.
