Rod Bartlett presented the Lise Meitner Lecture for 2013 at the Computational Chemistry Symposium held November 3rd at the Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot, Israel. Awarded since 1998, the lectureship is a distinction given by the Lise Meitner-Minerva Center in Israel to a prominent quantum chemist whose work has had an imprtant impact on the chemical community. He gave additional lectures at Hebrew University in Jersualem and the Technion Insitute in Haifa.
The 7th Quantum Molecular Mechanics congress was held in Lugano, Switzerland in June 2013. Over 300 scientists attended. The MQM 2013 was held in honor of Professor Rodney (“Rod”) Bartlett for his seminal contributions towards the treatment of electron correlation.
RJB received a Doctor honoris causa from Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia on October 10, 2012. This was awarded in recognition of his long-time collaboration with Comenius scientists. Together they have published 37 papers which to date have almost 3,500 citations. Pictures Speech
