Font Issues and Resources
First you need to ensure that your web browser has unicode (UTF-8) character encoding enabled. In Firefox go to View->Character Encoding and select Unicode (UTF-8). Take similar steps in other web browsers.
To display the devanāgarī script and
transliterated Roman characters properly you
will need to download an appropriate unicode font. I
highly recommend installing Gandhari Unicode which is
freely available here.
This
font works on PCs, Macs, and Linux/Unix boxes. This is the
primary font used at this site for displaying Indic characters.
This link will also take you to WAZU Japan's Gallery of Unicode Fonts where you can download an array of devanāgarī unicode fonts.
