Faculty and students may also post their website to the UF Plaza server. The website address would be http://plaza.ufl.edu/username  This option requires that you FTP your files to the Plaza server. ... I have a large database (circa 700 names) of email addresses to which we want to send a message. Do you know any way these can be entered into email programs?
1.  Create a list of contacts and addresses, and save it in either .tab or .csv format.  This is easy in Excel, for example; just "save as" and select .csv as the type of file.

In your Mozilla-family email program (Mozilla, Thunderbird, SeaMonkey),
2.  Select Window ...  Address Book
3.  Tools ... Import ... Select Address Books ... Next
4.  Select "text file"
5.  This opens a window to point to the file that you've created with the addresses. Select the file type (eg., comma separated for *.csv), find, and open the file.
6.  This brings up a work window; move primary email to correspond to the email address in your first record, and other field names to correspond to the field.  Click OK.  It should import your records and create a new address book.
7.  Select the address book,  select (shift-click) all the names in the address book (or as many as you want), and select "compose".
8.  That should open a new email window with all the addresses.  Spam away.

Note that items 8 (enthusiasm for the subject) and 9 (encouragement of independent, creative, and critical thinking) on the CLAS form are not included on this page. I know the official explanation, but it's so stupid it's not worth passing on.

If any administrators are reading this page, it would be helpful to be able to select and export the information on the teaching evaluation webpage to Excel or Word tables, so faculty and staff who are preparing teaching and promotion, SPP, or teaching award packets do not have to retype all this stuff.

... get statistical consulting for my research project? The Department of Statistics, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, is pleased to continue its consulting service this summer (2005). The goal of the service is to provide high-quality statistical consultation, free of charge, to graduate student and faculty researchers.  There are two types of services offered:

1.      Walk-In Consulting.  No appointment necessary.  From 1-2pm on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.  Statistical consultants will be available in Griffin-Floyd 101A.  This service is intended for short questions, typically concerning statistical software packages.

2.      Consulting Appointment.  For more complex, or time consuming, statistical questions, you should make an appointment.  We should be able to schedule a session with a faculty member within one week.  To make an appointment send an email to consult@stat.ufl.edu

Although we will typically not perform data analysis, we will provide guidance concerning appropriate statistical analyses and computer packages that will do the computations.
