In contrast to other utopian writers, with Karel Čapek we have reached a world where the future may be more imperfect than perfect, a world closer to a dystopia than a utopia.

Čapek, however, is not completely negative.  There are signs of hope and future promise.  In your reading of R.U.R. in conjunction with his brief essay, “Let’s be revolutionary”, in a brief paragraph highlight what you believe is Čapek’s vision of an ideal society.
