The Kaan Lab research team conducts experiments to investigate language processing in the brain. In particular, we are interested in how humans process (a) lexical tones, and (b) sentences and texts, and which brain areas are recruited in these tasks.
We use a variety of
experimental techniques: questionnaires, reading
studies, event-related brain potentials and fMRI.
