My Toys: The Humpty Dumpty Toy Book
written and illustrated by Ethel Roskruge

The author describes and illustrates the stuffed and wooden toys, and various dolls, which she keeps around her workplace, including three Japanese dolls, Koko (the name of one of the main characters in Gilbert and Sullivan's Mikado), Joko, and Boko. The one- or two-page stories often tell of the mishaps or sorrows in the toys' "lives." For example, the Dutch doll lost her leg "from dancing too much" and we see here that Boko's head came off. Koko is of course distinguished by being in one piece and on the book's cover.
