GLY4790C- The Department of Geological Sciences operates a field station in Taos, New Mexico. We stay at the Austing Haus Ski Lodge (9000 feet) for 3.5 weeks and the remaining 2.5 weeks are spent traveling the West. Schedule is posted below. Please also look to see our list of 'items to bring'. We encourage you to get your field boots early so that they will be broken in by Field Camp time.2009
Cost and Schedule (for Costs please e-mail Dr. Meert): A non-refundable
deposit of
$200.00 must be sent by Feb 1, 2009 to reserve a place at
camp. The cost for field camp this year is $1665.00 unless
students vote to take three vans and then the total cost will be
$1860.00 per person (+tuition and fees).

-sleeping bag
-hiking boots (break these in early)

4-5 liters of water

-cold weather gear (we get snow and
freezing weather)
-hot weather gear (it gets hot)
-marking pens, pencils, colored

-laptop with drawing package
software (CorelDraw or Adobe)
-sunscreen, chapstick, skin lotion,
insect repellant
-sunglasses

-small flashlight
