We will be reading selections from a variety of Latin poets from the
Republican and Imperial periods. Our goal is to be able to render Latin
accurately into English, and to appreciate each author’s style as well
as the historical and cultural significance of the texts. PLEASE NOTE: READINGS
FOR THIS CLASS ARE IN LATIN. ALL STUDENTS MUST HAVE COMPLETED TWO YEARS
OF LATIN LANGUAGE.
