Graduate Research Opportunities and Potential Support

Sampling Inkwell

Sampling Inkwell bluehole on San Salvador, Bahamas

I have recently been funded to work on several projects related to surface and ground water interactions.  The projects listed below include funding for PhD students.  Although students with a master degree will have priority, well-qualified students with a bachelor degree can be accepted to work on these projects.  These projects are linked in that they focus on flow in carbonate aquifers, chemical interactions between the carbonate rocks and water, and dissolution and cementation of the aquifers.

Click on the project titles to download a brief description (in Word) of individual projects and/or contact me if you wish to learn more about these projects.

Reversals of karst springs: Implications for water budgets, water quality, and speleogenesis

Collaborative Research: Controls on delivery and fate of water, nitrogen and calcium in a spring-fed karst river

Collaborative Research: High-resolution sensor networks for quantifying and predicting surface-groundwater mixing and nutrient delivery in the Santa Fe River, Florida

Post-deposition dissolution of carbonate minerals: Origins of secondary porosity in modern carbonate platforms
