The Development Reading Group

Dr. Renata Serra and Dr. Julie Silva have begun a reading group that focuses on current themes in development. The reading group meets once a month during the semester and discusses a recent book on development (broadly conceived) in Africa and beyond. The setting is informal, and the goal is to create a forum for people with different academic backgrounds and perspectives to discuss critical development issues and learn from one another.

We are very pleased to have received some financial support from the Center for African Studies, which enables us to buy three copies of each selected book. One copy is for the person volunteering to present the book, and two copies are for library reserve. This will enable those of you who do not want to buy the book to consult it before our meeting.
