I. Itinerary For A One Week Trip In A French-Speaking Country/City
Due: Week of February 5

Length: 2 pages long (plus bibliography)

Language: French

Contents: why you want to go to this country, what your expectations are, the places you’ll visit in this country, transportation to get there and get around, where you’ll stay, what you plan to do during your stay

-Please list any Websites and resources where information was obtained (minimum three sources in French)

  • Mon Journal: an in-depth description of a visit to a museum, monument, chateau, quartier, etc. in the region that you choose.
  • Due: February 21 or 22 – bring three copies for peer editing

    Length: 1-2 pages

    Language: French

    Contents: give your perspective on what you saw, what you thought of it, what you learned, what surprised you, any problems you encountered, etc. Would you recommend it? Why?

  • Mes Aventures: a short presentation of two adventures or activities during your trip
  • Due: Week of March 12 Length: about 3-4 minutes 

    Language: French

    Recommended Structures and Vocabulary:  describe a "dinner adventure" at a restaurant (vocab chapter 2)

    describe an activity that you did (use passé composé and imparfait MP pp. 127-128). Refer to the vocabulary in the MP p. 125 (chapter 3 – les loisirs).

  • Une Carte Postale: a virtual postcard to a classmate describing your trip
  • Due: March 19 Length: size of postcard

    Recommended Structures and Vocabulary:  Passé Composé/Imparfait

  • Mes Impressions (Journal Entry): Impressions of your trip
  • Due: Week of April 2 Length: 1 page

    Language: French

    Contents: convey a sense of "being there"; talk about some of the things that surprised you, what and what you discovered. Your discussion should be organized with an introduction, body (with supporting statements that convey your main points), and conclusion and integrate appropriate cultural knowledge from in-class discussions and readings. -list any Websites and resources where information was obtained (minimum three sources in French)

  • Le Carnet de Voyage
  • Due: Week of April 16
    This final product should include all drafts of the components. It should have the feel and appearance of a scrapbook: neatly organized (you may want to include a table of contents or a note to the reader) and creatively presented. Be sure to include a bibliography.
    You will be graded on cultural accuracy, originality and creativity, presentation, comprehensibility, grammatical and lexical accuracy.
