Research Interests

My main area of interest is in aphasia, both with monolingual English and Spanish/English bilingual speakers.

In particular, I am interested in:

  1. Developing novel theoretically motivated treatments promoting generalization* in aphasia.
  2. Characterizing verb deficits in persons with aphasia.
  3. Understanding the relationship between pre-morbid language proficiency abilities and treatment outcomes in bilingual speakers .
  4. Lexical semantics processing of verbs and their thematic roles.

*Generalization refers to improvement on items or tasks that were not specifically trained in treatment. With respect to bilingual speakers, crosslinguistic generalization, or improvement in the untrained language, is a primary goal.

See my CV for publications.
