Examinations & Papers
The course will give you a variety of opportunities to exhibit
your knowledge. There will be six unannounced short quizzes (of which you
may drop one). There will also be a final, cumulative essay examination
and three short papers of 3 typed pages each. The topics and guidelines
for the papers will be given to you in class and will be reviewed with
you at that time. The first paper will be due in September. The papers
will count 36%, the quizzes 30%, the final examination 30%, and class participation
4%.
