I joined the faculty of the Department of Romance
Languages and Literatures at the After receiving my Ph.D. in Linguistic
Anthropology from Université de Montréal, I was awarded a
postdoctoral fellowship from the FCAR (a prestigious funding institution in My Research Interests I have always been fascinated by the
interaction between language and society, and I am especially interested by
the sociolinguistic study of French. I am interested in all varieties of
French, more particularly Québec French, and other varieties spoken in As a
sociolinguist, my research interests encompass language variation and change,
as well as language contact. For example, one of my current research projects
focuses on longitudinal linguistic change in Montréal French. In addition, I
do research about the variety of French spoken by young Anglophones living in
Montréal, a second language which has nowadays become an integral part of
their linguistic repertoire. |
