Lab Announcements:
-Lab 12 is not required, but I'll be in the lab classroom (CSE E211) during 4th, 5th & 6th period on Monday, April 11, 2005, if you want to come in to ask questions and/or work on HW 5.
-Questions about homework grades?
Need your exam code or have questions about your score?  Email me or stop by during office hours.

HOMEWORK 5 NOTES & HINTS:
-Based on Lab 11 - Multivariate Analysis.
-You need SPSS for Step 1.  You need a word processor for Step 3 & Step 4.
-To produce an OLS Regression analysis in SPSS:  Analyze >> Regression >> Linear  (Then simply specify your dependent variable and your independent variables.  Hit OK.)
-Note:  There is no Step 2 (it was deleted from last semester's version)!
-On Step 4, there is a typo where it says "respondent's vocabulary".  "Vocabulary" was a dependent variable used on a previous version of the assignment.  Instead, this should be a reference to the dependent variable of your section's homework assignment.
-On the table it asks you for "N":  N = total df + 1   (You can get the total df from the "ANOVA" table on the output.)
-To determine which independent variable has the greatest effect, use the "Standardized Coefficients" column from the output.  The independent variable with the largest standardized coefficient is the one with the greatest effect on the dependent variable.
