The Yucatan program combines classroom work in Spanish, Anthropology,
and Cultural Ecology with
FIELDTRIPS
to interesting places. The Yucatan is a hot, tropical
place, so often the fieldtrips end up where there is
WATER
and students have been known to jump in, just to cool off!

But the program is not just about going to the beach.
We also go to archaeology sites and sit around interesting parks and talk with Yucatecans about life.

The Yucatan of Mexico is a state with a large indigenous population of Maya speakers. During the program we also visit villages and eat Mayan food and talk to local people. Here is Dr. Burns with Sra. Severina of Ticul, Yucatan.
