Academic Year Courses: During the academic year the University of Florida has a program for a few students with excellent Spanish skills who want to spend a semester or year in Yucatan. The program incorporates you into the academic life of the Autonomous University of Yucatan, and you will take classes, along with other international and Yucatenan students. The program includes a Spanish course (Academic Spanish for International Students) as well as three or four courses that are given through the Faculty of Anthropology at the Autonomous University of Yucatan. The following courses are among those which are used with our program. Each year new courses in history, anthropology and archaeology are added to the program. The Spanish courses are divided into three levels, depending on the background preparation of students. Each Spanish course meets for fourty hours. The anthropology courses include classes on Mexican Literature, Linguistics, the History of Mexico, Archaeology and Anthropology.
