Granted annually to one undergraduate geology major who is a member
of the honorary society Sigma Gamma Epsilon (SGE). The scholarship award
is based predominantly on academic achievement.

Edward D. Danker Scholarship

- Eligibility:
Awarded annually to one graduating senior Geological Sciences student
who has contributed to the department through his/her interest in geology,
academic ability and enthusiasm.
- Award:
$200 and name added to a plaque in the department office.
Estwing Award
- Contact:

- Eligibility:
A student who excels at summer field camp in terms of understanding
the concepts of field geology, as well as demonstrating an ability to
adapt to field conditions and contribute to the spirit of the group.
- Award:
An engraved rock hammer.
Graduate
Horn Award

- Eligibility:
Awarded annually to an outstanding graduate student, as defined by:
motivation, enthusiasm, research activity, and involvement in the department.
- Award:
$200 and name is added to a plaque in the department office.

Ernst Award

- Eligibility:
Granted to two outstanding teaching assistants; one who teaches at the
1000 - 2000 level, and another who teaches at the 3000 level or above,
in recognition of excellence in preparation of discussions/laboratory
exercises, interactions with students and the supervising faculty, and
other activities in the classroom.

$200.
Shewey Award
