SPICE
SPICE (Science Partners in Inquiry-based Collaborative Education) is a
three-year project funded by the National Science Foundation to foster
inquiry-based learning of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics
in Gainesville's under-resourced middle schools.
LUECI
LUECI (Land Use and Environmental Change Institute) is a multidisciplinary
research center, developed cooperatively by the Departments of Geological
Sciences, Geography, Anthropology, and the Center for Latin American
Studies. LUECI fosters research that addresss complex interactions among
climate, humans, and the environment, especially in tropical and sub-tropical
regions.
Amazon
Conservation Leadership Initiative (PDF)
The Amazon Conservation Leadership Initiative, jointly sponsored by the
University of Florida's Center for Latin American Studies and School
of Forest Resources and Conservation, has complementary goals of training
individuals at UF and building in-country capacity for science and conservation
in the Andes-Amazon region.
