Humanities Development Mission and Objectives
The CLAS Research team is committed to help stimulate external grant and fellowship proposal development and assist in assuring quality applications submitted by our faculty engaged in humanities focused research. Our major objectives in accomplishing this goal are to:
- Increase awareness of external funding opportunities
- Recruit faculty for specific initiatives
- Assist faculty in the use of FYI
- Help to connect faculty with similar interests for collaborative interdisciplinary research
- Assist in teaching faculty how to write competitive proposals
- Offer “mini” workshops on grant development and grant writing
- Provide forums for open dialogue with seasoned recipients of humanities related grants
- Invite RGP entities to share information on resources available to grant writers
- Assist faculty in the application process
- Help faculty with data gathering or sources for data gathering
- Assist with administrative tasks as needed
- Help to coordinate and participate in interdisciplinary efforts
