Interdisciplinary Major in Medieval and Early Modern StudiesMEMS is an "established concentration" for undergraduates at UF, allowing a major in Interdidisciplinary Studies (IDS). Students must apply for admission to the IDS major in MEMS by the end of the sophomore year at the latest, in consultation with two faculty sponsors (one of whom must be in CLAS). A 3.0 GPA is required for admission to the major, which consists of:

MEMS MinorThe Minor in MEMS consists of 18 credit hours of course work distributed as follows: 1) No more than 9 hours of introductory course work at the 2000 level; 2) 9 credit hours of upper-division course work, of which at least 3 must be at the 4000 level. Since work with different languages is a necessary part of MEMS, an additional requirement is completion of a 2000 level course (3 hours) in a foreign language.
