This year's exhibition and events are held in
collaboration with The City of Gainesville Department of Parks, Recreation and
Cultural Affairs, the University of Florida Center for European Studies, the Society
for Creative Anachronism, and the Hoggetowne Medieval Faire

Wednesday, January 23, 2008. Medieval Times Weapons Demonstrations on the UF Plaza of the Americas at 11:30 AM and 12:30PM. In addition to the dashing knights from
Medieval Times, visitors can enjoy a hawking demonstration and various jugglers
as well as gather information about the program in Medieval and Early Modern
Studies.

Friday, February 1. “Medieval Masquerade.” Thomas Center 5 - 7PM.
Medieval Garb is encouraged. There will be hors d’oeuvres, entertainment
and an assortment of medieval games from around the globe that will be
available for children and adults to try.
Visitors can expect to see Mongols playing shagai (knucklebones), a
"Japanese" lady making Origami figures, medieval ladies offering
Quoits (Ring Toss) and board games for kids to try and much more!
The
Thomas Center Galleries are located at 302 NE 6th Ave. Gainesville,
FL 32601. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday from
9 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 1 - 4 p.m. The galleries are closed for observed
