About the Major
Russian majors develop a solid working knowledge of the language and a thorough understanding of Russian culture and everyday life. The Russian language is the most geographically widespread language of Eurasia, the most widely spoken of the Slavic languages, and the largest native language in Europe. Studying Russian prepares students for graduate programs in the humanities and social sciences, as well as a variety of careers, including law, government, international relations, business, and education. Beyond this, it equips students with analytical skills essential for performing effectively in today's multicultural world.
