Recent Graduate Student Publications
Our graduate students are strongly encouraged to try to publish their research in the traditional scientific journal outlets. We try to encourage this by allowing publication from manuscripts as part of the theses or dissertations. Typically a Masters student may produce 1 or 2 papers of publishable quality which make up part of their thesis (along with an introduction and conclusion material), and a PhD may be 3-5 papers of publishable quality (again with the dissertation also including an introduction and conclusion section). In addition, some courses encourage the writing of publication quality papers, which has also proven to be succesful. Below we list recent publications from our graduate stduents, since 2000, although we did not really start to push the publication process until 2003 and onwards. We feel the success of our graduate students in this arena is highly reflective of the impressive quality of the graduate students in our graduate program. Where available pdf files of the publications are attached as links.
