Amy E. Daniels

Geographical Region of Study: Central America (I've worked in Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica) and Florida. My dissertation research will either be in Florida or somewhere in Latin America (including the Caribbean).

Affilliation to LUECI: I am a PhD student in SNRE (Interdisciplinary Ecology) whose research falls under the broad umbrella of LUECI interests. I have used both remote sensing and ethnographic field methods to examine environmental change. I am involved with other organizations on campus that are interested in environmental change, including the Ethnoecology Society and the Roadies Research Group.

Affilliation to LUECI: Current research interests focus on complex social-ecological systems, and how land use and land cover change (LULCC) analysis can be used to capture drivers of change.

Affilliation to LUECI: For my MS, I've been working on an analysis of compound-specific carbon isotopes of lipid biomarkers to use as a proxy for paleoenvironmental change in the Maya Lowlands of Pet?, Guatemala during the past ~4500 years
