To use the visualizer, turn it on at the power button. There is also a zoom control which adjusts how much of the light table is seen by the camera.

The DVD player
This is an Advent DVD player. The remote should be kept on top of the player. It is easier to use the remote for all functions (e.g. open/close DVD drawer) than to push the buttons.
It is a good idea to test a DVD in the player before planning to show it to your class.
To play a DVD:
The VCR
- First, point the projector remote to select INPUT 3 on the projector. Push Button 1 on the black switcher box to select the DVD player.
- If the screen says "Notevision" turn the DVD player on by pointing the Advent remote at the DVD player and pressing the red button.
- Point the Advent remote at the DVD player and press the green button to open the DVD drawer. Place the DVD in the drawer, and press the green button on the remote again to close the drawer.
- When the initial announcements have played, try using either the MENU button (at the top of the remote, near the green open/close button) or the fast-forward button (in the topmost of the four lower rows of buttons) to get to the DVD menu. The four large triangular buttons and the central round ENTER button allow you to navigate the menu and select the options you prefer.
- The SUBTITLE button is in the second row from the bottom.
- The PLAY button is in the center, below the circular array of menu navigation buttons.
This is a Sony multi-system VCR, which will play American or foreign videotapes. It should detect the tape standard and play it correctly automatically.

- Study the circular array of buttons on the remote, which includes the PLAY, STOP, PAUSE, REWIND and FAST-FORWARD buttons.
- You may also want to use the SLOW button to replay a segment of fast speech.
- The x2 button might be useful in cuing up the film (it plays the video at twice normal speed, with no sound).
- There is an EJECT button at the top left of the remote.
This player has no remote. You will need to study the controls before playing a laserdisk.
