Some of the functions of the Composer, in particular Link and Image, allow you to add "extra HTML" to the codes the program is automatically writing for you. This can be very useful, if you have found codes that create desirable effects. For example, you can add a code to a link which causes the linked page to appear in a different frame of your page.
Composer does not allow you to create or edit a Frames page (the master page that arranges 2 or more different pages on one screen). For that, use Notepad.
It does not allow you to create Forms (interactive fill-in blanks) or a Map-Edited image (different parts of which are sensitive to the cursor in different ways), but it does allow you to copy or edit them. To copy the form, you will need to open the Web page in the Composer (by choosing "Edit Page") The HTML coding for such items appears a little yellow "tags" on the page in the Composer, which can be copied. By clicking on a tag, you access the text of the code and can modify it.
For example, if the code included a link from part of a picture of your husband to his webpage, and his webpage had moved, you could change the address in the <href= > section of that part of the code, by clicking on the yellow tag in Netscape composer.
Or if you had copied a Form suitable for a short-answer quiz to be emailed to you, you would want to change the names of the items so that you could identify each one in the resulting email, and you would need to change the mailto address at the beginning of the form! All the tags will look pretty much alike in Netscape Composer, so you may decide you prefer to edit them in Notepad.
This is the end of the Netscape Composer tutorial. Use the arrow below to proceed to the WordPerfect section, or you can jump to Publishing your Page.
