Keene Faculty Center

Keene Faculty Center

The Keene Faculty Center, located in Dauer Hall is a multipurpose College of Liberal Arts and Sciences facility which has been completely restored thanks to the generosity of Kenneth and Janet Keene.  Looking much as it did in the first half of the 20th century, the aged wood panelling and flooring, arched windows and elegant furnishings decorate over 1600 square feet of high-ceilinged space, making this a resource with a unique and breathtaking ambience on the UF campus.

On the main floor of the facility is a 32' x 54' commons room, a storage room, and a small kitchen area.  During the weekdays, the commons room is available to faculty as a coffee and reading room and a place to hold informal discussions with colleagues and guests. Current hours for this activity are: Monday thru Friday 9:00 am - 2:30 pm. In the late afternoon and evening hours and on weekends, the main floor can be reserved for a variety of other activities, including receptions, lectures, conferences, and meetings.

On the second floor of the facility is the Gallery.  This smaller area overlooking the main floor can be reserved for small luncheons and will accomodate up to 14 people.

The main floor is furnished with an assortment of couches and easy chairs.  The facility is equipped with tables and 75 chairs.  Musical events held in the Center have found the acoustics to be quite pleasant.
