Keene Faculty Center

Keene Faculty Center

The Keene Faculty Center, located in Dauer Hall, is a multipurpose College of Liberal Arts and Sciences facility, which has been completely restored thanks to the generosity of Kenneth and Janet Keene. Looking much as it did in the first half of the 20th century, this unique resource is situated at the heart of UF's historic campus. Aged wood paneling and flooring, high ceilings, and arched windows contribute to the breathtaking ambience of this 1600-square-foot space.

On the main floor of the facility is a 32-by-54-foot common room, a storage room, and a small kitchen area. On weekdays, the common room is available to faculty as a coffee and reading room as well as a place to hold informal discussions with colleagues and guests. Current hours for this activity are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. In the late afternoon, evening hours, and weekends, the main floor can be reserved for a variety of other activities -- dinners, receptions, lectures, conferences, and meetings.

On the second floor of the facility is the Gallery. This small area overlooking the main floor can be reserved for small luncheons and can accommodate up to 14 people.

The main floor is furnished with an assortment of couches and easy chairs. The facility is equipped with 20 high-quality trestle tables and 75 dining chairs and can seat up to 30 people at a dinner on the main floor. The acoustics of the center are also appropriate for musical events.
