Four USP Scholars Receive Best Paper Awards
At the University Scholars Program’s sixth annual spring
banquet held on April 8, four scholars were honored with Best Paper Awards.
The following students received a commemorative certificate and $250:

The competition is judged by the Dial Center for Written and Oral Communication
and submissions are welcomed from all current students in the University
Scholars Program. The annual deadline to apply is February 1.
Outstanding Mentors Honored
In addition to recognizing the winners of the Best Paper Competition
at the University Scholars Programs annual spring banquet on April 8, the
program, for the first time, honored a group of Outstanding Mentors. Each
was nominated by their student and supported with letters from their department
chairs. The following faculty received a $10 gift certificate to Starbucks
for their outstanding performance as a 2004-2005 USP mentor:
