University Scholars Program Calls for Entries for 2004-2005 Best Paper Competition
The University Scholars Program, in conjunction with the Office of the Provost and the Journal of Undergraduate Research, is holding its annual Best Paper Competition recognizing the best research articles in the University Scholars Program in 2004-2005. Four awards totaling $1,000 will honor the two best qualitative and two best quantitative research articles. Awards will be announced during the University Scholars Banquet in April. Papers should follow the same guidelines as the JUR and must be submitted electronically to editor Creed Greer at cgreer@ufl.edu by February 1, 2005. All articles submitted to the Journal of Undergraduate Research by February 1—including both published articles and articles under review—will also be eligible for the awards. If you wish to have your article considered for the contest but not published, please indicate so when submitting your paper.

University Scholars Reception will be held Friday, April 8
The 2005 University Scholars Reception will be held Friday, April 8, at 6:30 pm at the Harn Museum of Art. All 2004-2005 USP scholars, mentors and their families are invited to attend. The winners of the Best Paper Competition will be announced during a short ceremony highlighting the past year of the USP.

Annual University Scholars Symposium will be held Saturday, April 9
The Annual University Scholars Symposium will be held Saturday, April 9, from 8:30 am until 3 pm at Anderson Hall. All 2004-2005 USP scholars are encouraged to give a 15-minute presentation on their research. To sign up, contact Jeanna Mastrodicasa at JMastrodicasa@aa.ufl.edu
