Featured Scholar: Michael McFarland
Microbiology and cell major Michael McFarland came to UF on a varsity
basketball scholarship. And while the rigors of either his pre-med studies
or his athletic career might have overwhelmed some students, he managed
to succeed at both. In fact, McFarland was named to the SEC Scholar-Athlete
Honor Roll and was recently admitted to medical school. "I knew I had
to maintain an A average, and that was extremely challenging," he says.
"But I knew a good education was the key to my future."
