Teresa Baquero
Featured Scholar: Teresa Baquero

To say that Teresa Baquero enjoys a challenge is putting it mildly. Whether the senior from Ft. Myers is learning the skills required for mountain bike racing or gene therapy, she does not give up easily. "The first time I tried racing, I showed up with a big clunky bike and no experience. I flipped over and broke my collar bone," she recalls. "But I learned a lot and as soon as I healed I went back for more." (Photo by Patrick Leonard)
