Steps for Opening an International Account
for Registering for the Conference
To complete the simple international registration process, just fill out PayPal's short registration form that includes your name, address, and email. A confirmation link will be sent to your email address; by clicking on the link and confirming your password at the PayPal website, you will enable others to send money to you at this email address. Depending on the country in which you live, PayPal may ask you to go through a second confirmation process to pay money from you to, for example, the PsyArt Foundation.
In the past the process has gone as follows. You'll be asked to register either a credit card or debit card to fund your payments. PayPal will then charge your card $1, labeled with unique PayPal merchant number identifiers. Then just check your monthly credit card statement online at your card company's homepage to learn the number identifiers of this charge. These usually settle into your account within 4 business days of signing up. Write down this unique number identifier and then log in to the PayPal website and enter that number -- this proves to PayPal that you are the card's owner (because you have clearance to access the card's account information) and PayPal will allow you to start making payments using your card. As soon as you confirm your credit card, you will receive a $1 Card Confirmation Bonus in your PayPal account.
