Discussion
The Committee discussed the development of a ballot to solicit candidate preferences from department faculty, graduate students and staff.
- Design of ballot
- Distribution and collection of ballots
- Organization of departmental open forum
Pamela Gilbert, Judy Page, and Maureen Turim have accepted their colleagues' nominations; sixteen other nominees have declined.
The Committee decided the ballot would list the names of the three candidates and ask voters to check or circle their preference.
The balloting will take place from Tuesday, March 27, through Friday, March 30, after the department forum on Monday, March 26, at 4 p.m. in the Keene Center.
Minutes - November 15, 2007
Attendance: Sid Dobrin, chair; Kim Emery, member; Raul Sanchez, member
The Committee received 87 applications for the advertised position in Composition and Rhetoric. The Committee reviewed the applications and identified 19 applicants from whom to request further information and dossier materials. Those names were delivered to the Department Chair.
The Committee has asked the Chair to request one article/chapter-length writing sample and three letters from each. The Committee will meet again on Thursday, December 6, 2007 to discuss the requested materials.
