The meeting was called to order by Danaya Wright, President of the University Senate, at 3:17 pm. - There
was discussion of the proposal.
- Rick Yost suggested that the members of the committee read the proposal and come to the next meeting prepared present amendments. Rick also suggested that the members of the committee read the CLAS Constitution to see if there are other pressing items that need immediate attention as well.
- Carol Murphy suggested that the Executive Committee should have some liaison with the University Senate.
- John Leavey suggested that it should be clarified whether the Executive Committee has authority to act or if final authority would continue to rest with the CLAS Assembly.
- Jane Brockman suggested that Jed send the proposal in electronic form.
- Jed requested that recommended changes be sent to him.
- At some point John Moore suggested that Jed Keesling act as Chair for the SGTF Committee and this was accepted by acclamation.
- Jed Keesling suggested that the next meeting be in one week, Friday, Oct 27, 3:00 pm. Ron Randles was to arrange the room, but after the meeting he notified Jed that the Statistics conference rooms were not available at that time. Rick Yost will arrange a room in Chemistry.
