Minutes
- The meeting began at 10:00 am. The Minutes from the previous meeting were adopted. The Committee agreed that as our work intersects with a number of other self-governance committees it is important that we attend their meetings. As much as possible Finance Committee members will rotate attendance at meetings of other faculty governance bodies.
- The Committee then turned to a discussion of the tasks for this semester, as defined at our last meeting. It was decided that working on these tasks should be temporarily tabled in favor of contributing to the CLAS Dean search by serving as an information resource on the College’s finances. Specifically the Committee will provide data about CLAS finances and allocation practices. We will, through email discussion, generate a list of topics to bring to the attention of candidates. The Committee will then form into sub-groups to investigate these topics and supply data. To avoid duplication of effort, topics will be grouped under sources of information so that each subgroup will be in charge of accessing specific data bases. The Chair will communicate with the Search Committee as to their interest in such a document.
