Message From the Dean
Welcome to the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) at the University of Florida and to the outstanding range of opportunities that our College can offer to the modern student. Our departments, centers and institutes provide a wealth of programs and courses developed by some of the world's leading researchers and scholars.
The information and links on our Web site will guide you through these programs and if you have need of further information, please do not hesitate to contact me or the associate deans.
CLAS offers not only an excellent program in the traditional disciplines, but also a wide range of world class interdisciplinary programs and opportunities to study abroad. Beyond a chosen liberal arts education and depth of learning in special disciplines and cross-disciplinary endeavors provide UF students an opportunity to enrich their understandings, challenge their imagination, and to develop their creative abilities. We encourage students to indulge in their curiosity at the frontiers of enquiry and to stretch their imagination to new horizons. It is this broader and more challenging aspect of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences that we believe better prepares our students for not only leading a more fulfilling life, but also prepares them for leadership in their future careers.
