Jim Mueller Biography

Jim Mueller

James Mueller is Associate Professor of Religion and Associate Dean for Adminstrative Affairs in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Florida. He earned his doctorate at Duke University in Early Judaism and Early Christianity, in 1986. After teaching at North Carolina State University, Duke University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he joined the UF faculty in 1988. His research focuses on the noncanonical literatures of greco-roman period Judaism, including the Jewish Pseudepigrapha and the Dead Sea Scrolls; and the early Christian apocryphal literature. He serves as a co-editor of both the "Journal for the Study of the Pseudepigrapha" (Continuum), and of the "Commentaries on Early Jewish Literature" series (Walter de Gruyter).
