Graduate degree programs
Creating a new graduate degree program
The procedures for proposing a new graduate degree program are described in detail on the Provost's website. The process involves preparing a pre-proposal that must be approved by the College Curriculum Committee (CCC) and the Office of the Provost before an actual proposal is submitted.
Making changes to an existing graduate degree program
The Graduate School accords departments broad latitude in making curricular changes to existing graduate programs. However, departments contemplating making changes in required credit hours, or that want to either close a degree program or add a concentration to a degree program, should contact the Graduate School directly to initiate a process that passes initially through the Graduate Council.
