Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Program in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology

The primary goal of the Ph.D. is to educate students as researchers with a focus on interdisciplinary studies. Doctoral students typically engage in study and research within several departments or programs, including biomedical engineering, dentistry, gerontology, linguistics, medicine, psychology, and special education. Coursework is designed to develop expertise in various aspects of research so that students can ultimately conduct independent and original research programs which add to the body of knowledge in basic and applied communication sciences and disorders. The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders is committed to recruiting, admitting, supporting, graduating, and helping to place students with the highest ethical and academic qualities.

For more specific information about the Ph.D. Program, please view the Doctoral Student Handbook (in Adobe Reader) here.
