Speaker - Kelly McKibben

Kelly J. McKibben received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 1990 from the University of Florida and Juris Doctorate degree in 1994 from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. She currently serves as a Brevard County Court Judge in the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit since her appointment by former Governor Jeb Bush in 2005. Prior to the judiciary, Kelly was an attorney with the Florida Department of Children and Families for approximately 11 years where she received several honors for her work in the area of child welfare.

Her civic and professional organization memberships include: member of the Florida Bar since October 1994; member of the State Bar of Georgia since 1994 (inactive status); Team Leader for Justice Teaching Program for Kennedy Middle School since fall 2006 where she assists with Justice Teaching Program in Brevard County; appointed as Bar Bench Liaison (Judicial Liaison Committee) for Brevard County, Eighteenth Judicial Circuit since July 2006; member of the Brevard County Civilian/Military Council, 45th Space Wing since February 2006; member of the Vassar B. Carlton American Inn of Court since 1999 and served as Mentoring Director from 2002 to 2006, Program Director from 2006 to 2009 and served as President from 2009 to 2011; member of the Brevard County Bar Association since 1995 and served on the Brevard County Bar Association Board of Directors from August 2005 to December 2005. She was Chair of the Brevard County Canvassing Board from October 2006 to January 2009 and was re-appointed again from January 2010 to present. She has served as President of the Brevard County Gator ClubŪ from July 1999 to July 2000 and July 2003 to December 2005, has served as Vice-President of Academics from July 1996 to December 2005 and has been a club volunteer since 1996. She is a current member of the Community Based Care of Brevard/Brevard Family Partnership Board since January 2008 and serving as Treasurer; member of the Juvenile Court Rules Committee from July 2001 to June 2008; and member of the Legal Needs of Children Committee as of September 2008.

Kelly and her husband Scott Crandall live in Melbourne and have two American Cocker Spaniels, Domino and Checkers. She loves to spend time outdoors, especially in warm climates, loves to travel and take weekend trips, loves to spend time with family and friends, and particularly loves anything related to the University of Florida and the Florida Gators.

Kelly is currently serving as President of the UF Alumni Association, is Chair of the Executive Committee, and is a member of the Strategic Planning Committee. She has been a member of the UF Alumni Association Board since 2003 and has served on the Nominating Committee, as Chair of Leaders Weekend and as the first Mentoring Director.
