Asian Studies Study Abroad Fellowships
When funding is available, 2 awards of $1000 each will be available for UF students participating in academically accredited summer, semester or year-long study abroad programs to China, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea and select Pacific Rim countries (Australia excluded). There is no funding avaialbe for the academic year 2007-2008.
When funding is restired, students in all UF departments and disciplines will be eligible. The successful candidate will be:
a UF undergraduate in good standing
pursuing study abroad to an accredited academic institution in East or Southeast Asia
Applications must include:
Cover sheet (available at Asian Studies Office, 3312 Turlington Hall, or by download)
Essay on what you hope to accomplish in your travel to Asia, goals, expected benefits of study abroad(2-3 pp.)
For programs for which UF does not have a formal agreement (see here for a list), a precise description of study abroad program (academic or intensive language, contact hours, language hours, accreditation, expected course of study, ~1 page).
Two Letters of Recommendation (at least one from a UF faculty member)
Current UF transcript
Completed applications should be turned into 3312 Turlington Hall by the stated deadline (there is no funding for AY 2007-2008) for full consideration.
